Car jumps curb on Orchard Road, injures 25-year-old woman

A car veered onto a pedestrian walkway near Mandarin Gallery on Singapore's Orchard Road on Aug. 5, injuring a 25-year-old woman and damaging a traffic control box. Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted at about 3:50 p.m. to the crash at the junction of Orchard Road and Grange Road. The woman was taken conscious to Raffles Hospital. Video from the scene showed a gray car on the pavement outside the mall with front-end damage, while paramedics treated the injured pedestrian nearby. Police said the 20-year-old male driver is assisting with investigations. Mandarin Gallery said the crash happened on adjacent state land and did not damage its premises.
