BWI to hold Waqf Run 2026, Rp50,000 a ticket for forest recovery
The event caps entries at 1,500 runners, with Green Waqf funds routed through Mosaic for forest conservation programs.
Badan Wakaf Indonesia will hold Waqf Run 2026 on 29 November at Plaza Keong Emas, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta, while raising funds for forest and land fire recovery. Of the Rp300,000 registration fee per participant, Rp50,000 will be allocated to the Green Waqf program. Committee chairman Wahyu Muryadi said the event is aimed mainly at younger people so waqf is easier to access and is not seen only as land or buildings. The funds collected will be channeled through Muslims for Shared Action on Climate Impact (Mosaic), a foundation that involves environmental experts and alumni from Institut Pertanian Bogor. The committee is limiting participation to 1,500 people and has opened registration with a grand prize of an umrah package for two winners.
