Bulog forms national task force to monitor SPHP rice distribution
Monitoring begins nationwide on Oct. 30 after findings of SPHP rice being mixed and repackaged for commercial sale.
Perum Bulog has formed a special task force to oversee the distribution and sale of Stabilisasi Pasokan dan Harga Pangan (SPHP) rice across Indonesia starting Oct. 30, 2026. The move follows findings of misuse of SPHP rice, including repackaging government rice into 50-kilogram sacks for commercial purposes.
In Jakarta, Bulog officials inspected several Rumah Pangan Kita (RPK) partners directly, including RPK Dapur Budhe and RPK Master Jaya. In Papua, supervision was tightened by requiring retailers to cut the end of the sack after the rice is sold so it cannot be resold. In Maluku and Maluku Utara, Bulog is targeting 5.142 tons of SPHP distribution in 2026; as of Oct. 29, realization stood at 2.824 tons, or 54.9 percent, with PSO stock recorded at 9.424 tons. Bulog has also opened the Bella complaint channel for reports of alleged violations.
