Brent settles at $116.72 as Saudi attacks deepen Iran war fears

What's new: Brent rose 6.2% for the week, while the U.S. ordered non-essential personnel to leave Saudi Arabia.

Brent crude closed at $116.72 a barrel on Friday, its highest settlement since late April, as attacks in Saudi Arabia and expectations of renewed U.S. strikes on Iran drove a third straight weekly gain. U.S. crude settled at $103.27. Iran-allied Houthi militants have kept up strikes on Saudi targets, including attacks this week on the Shaybah oil field and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam that Saudi state media said killed at least four people in total and injured 10. The U.S. State Department ordered non-essential personnel to leave Saudi Arabia, and Reuters reported Saudi Aramco told staff to evacuate its Dhahran headquarters and work remotely after a series of attacks.
