Brebes regency will cover all medical costs for the victims, while the 27-year-old suspect was arrested in Kota Tegal.
A man identified as DR, 27, was arrested by Polres Brebes after hacking four family members in Desa Randusanga Kulon, Kecamatan Brebes, Jawa Tengah, on Tuesday night, Oct. 13, 2026. Three adult victims — the suspect's wife, FA, 24, and his father- and mother-in-law — suffered serious injuries and underwent surgery at RSUD Brebes. The couple's toddler also suffered a cut on the hand. Police seized a golok believed to have been used in the attack and arrested DR in Kota Tegal after he fled on a motorcycle. Initial police information said the dispute stemmed from work and financial problems, after the suspect took offense when asked to work. Brebes Regent Paramitha Widya Kusuma said the regency government would cover all treatment costs for the victims.
