Bogor gets 6,396 home repairs, PKP weighs more aid
Any extra aid will be decided next week after an assessment of local readiness, as Bogor still has 746,000 substandard homes.
Minister of Housing and Settlements Maruarar Sirait has opened the door to increasing the home-repair allocation for Bogor Regency after this year’s aid rose to at least 6,396 units from 1,346 units a year earlier. A decision on any additional allocation is due next week, depending on an evaluation of whether the region is ready to carry out the program in a targeted, fast and quality manner. After meeting Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto in Jakarta on Friday night, Maruarar said Bogor still has about 746,000 substandard homes. With a population of about 5.76 million, the regency was said to need faster handling through cooperation between the central and local governments. Republika also reported that PKP is preparing a housing KUR event in Bogor in October.
