BMKG Warns of Thunderstorms in Padang on Sunday

BMKG warned of potential thunderstorms in Padang on Sunday, while several other cities across Indonesia are forecast to see light rain. BMKG forecaster Bintari A. said light rain may fall in Medan, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, Mamuju, Palu, and Nabire. Elsewhere, weather in many major cities is expected to range from partly cloudy to overcast, including Banda Aceh, Jambi, Palembang, most of Java, Palangka Raya, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Makassar, Manado, Jayapura, and Merauke. BMKG also noted the potential for haze in Bandar Lampung and Mataram, as well as smoke or fog in Samarinda, Sorong, and Jayawijaya. BMKG said the forecast is general and urged the public to monitor hourly updates through the Info BMKG app and the @infobmkg account.
