BMKG: Most major cities see fair to cloudy skies, Jakarta sunny

Light rain may still hit Medan, Pontianak, Mamuju, Manokwari and Nabire, while Pekanbaru to Merauke could face hazy skies.

BMKG forecast weather in most major Indonesian cities on Thursday to be dominated by partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies, including Jakarta, which is expected to stay sunny through the day. In the capital, most areas are forecast to be sunny in the morning, partly cloudy by midday with East Jakarta cloudy, then sunny again across all areas at night. Jakarta temperatures are forecast at 25-35 degrees Celsius, with winds of 3-29 kilometers per hour. Nationwide, BMKG said atmospheric dynamics are influenced by convergence and confluence areas, including from the west coast of Malaysia to the Strait of Malacca and from Kalimantan to the Natuna Sea. The conditions could support cloud formation and rain in several areas. Light rain is possible in Medan, Tanjung Pinang, Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, Banjarmasin, Mamuju, Palu, Manokwari, and Nabire.
