Bintan launches PETA CKG MERDEKA to link checks, monitoring

New: exam results will be tied to medical follow-up and ongoing monitoring down to Posyandu level.

The Bintan Regency government launched the PETA CKG MERDEKA program to combine free health checks, medical follow-up and monitoring of residents' condition in one integrated service. The launch took place at Gedung Tanjak, Kijang Kota, on Monday, coinciding with the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's independence. Bintan Regent Roby Kurniawan said Posyandu will be the frontline, with the target expanded from pregnant women and infants to the entire life cycle, from babies to the elderly. The Bintan government said the model brings services closer to where residents live. In 2025, the implementation of free health checks in Bintan was said to rank first in Kepulauan Riau and brought Rp1 miliar in fiscal incentives.
