BI keeps benchmark rate at 5.75% in July 2026 review
BI also held the deposit facility at 4.75% and lending facility at 6.5% while widening incentives to support the rupiah.
Bank Indonesia kept the BI-Rate at 5.75% at its Board of Governors meeting on 21-22 July 2026. BI also held the deposit facility rate at 4.75% and the lending facility rate at 6.5%. Governor Perry Warjiyo said the decision was taken to preserve rupiah stability amid global uncertainty and to keep 2026-2027 inflation within the 2.5 plus minus 1 percent target. Alongside the rate hold, BI broadened incentives and other policies to attract foreign portfolio inflows, deepen money and foreign exchange markets, and add banking liquidity. The move followed BI's total 100 basis points of rate hikes since May 2026.
