BGN keeps TNI-Polri role in Free Nutritious Meals program
BGN says security personnel can help with distribution and field operations, while food ingredients must meet safety standards.
Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Sudaryono, is allowing TNI and Polri to remain involved in the Free Nutritious Meals program as long as implementation stays on target and runs well. He said involving the two institutions is not a problem if it helps distribution and operations in the regions. At the BGN headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/7/2026), Sudaryono cited his experience as Deputy Agriculture Minister, when 70.000 pumps were distributed through TNI and Polri because no distribution budget was available. BGN said the MBG program is carried out across sectors and is regulated under Decree of the Head of BGN RI No. 401.1 Tahun 2025 for fiscal 2026. TNI-Polri elements are said to support mentoring, distribution security and smooth operations. Sudaryono also stressed that MBG raw materials must meet safety standards so poisoning cases do not recur.
