BGN halts MBG during school break, saving Rp3 trillion
Students, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and non-PAUD toddlers will miss MBG from 22 June-13 July 2026.
Badan Gizi Nasional will suspend distribution of the Free Nutritious Meals Program during the school holiday from 22 June-13 July 2026. The policy in Circular Letter No. 12 of 2026 applies to all beneficiaries, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and non-PAUD toddlers. Deputy Head Agustina Arumsari said the halt will be used to reorganize and standardize the operational governance of Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi. During that period, SPPG units that are not operating will also not receive incentives. BGN estimates incentive budget savings of Rp3.004.560.000.000, based on incentives of Rp6 million per day for 18 days. The agency is also evaluating 76 schools in Java with 39.352 students deemed able to meet their own nutritional needs so funds can be redirected to groups that need them more, including 3T regions.
