Bareskrim Arrests Basri Lewaimang in Johor Baru, Seizes Assets
The THM Planet Batam fugitive was arrested in Malaysia after fleeing a day after the Aug. 10 raid.
Bareskrim Polri arrested Basri Lewaimang in Johor Baru, Malaysia, in a probe into drug trafficking at THM Planet 1, 2 and 3 Batam. Basri had been on the wanted list and was suspected of managing the venue and acting as a dealer supplying narcotics there. The arrest took place at about 00.30 Malaysia time through cooperation between Dittipidnarkoba, Divhubinter Polri and Interpol. Investigators said Basri crossed into Malaysia by ferry on Aug. 11, 2026, a day after the HH Club, or Planet 3, raid on Aug. 10. In the initial operation, police detained 32 people as suspects and witnesses. Police also seized two communication devices, cash in rupiah, Singapore dollars and ringgit, and notes believed to record narcotics transactions. Bareskrim previously said ecstasy circulation at THM Planet Batam reached at least 40,000 pills a month and is now tracing Basri’s assets in a money-laundering case.
