Bahlil switches on new power connection in Purworejo
By 2025, the new electricity connection aid had reached 220,845 households, including 19,161 in Jawa Tengah.
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia switched on the first new electricity connection assistance in Dusun Krembeng, Desa Hadimulyo, Kecamatan Kaligesing, Kabupaten Purworejo, Jawa Tengah, on Saturday. During the event, Bahlil also handed an electricity token to one of the aid recipients. He said the program is intended for residents who still have difficulty accessing electricity, especially in remote, isolated areas or places not yet reached by PT PLN's network. The government is running the village electricity program and new connection assistance to expand electrification in locations that are commercially unattractive because the number of customers is small and investment costs are high. Through 2025, the village electricity program has covered 1,403 locations across Indonesia, while new electricity connection assistance has been realized for 220,845 households, including 19,161 in Jawa Tengah.
