Arsenal have agreed a deal worth about £75 million to sign Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes, with the Brazil midfielder set to leave Newcastle’s training camp in La Manga, Spain, to complete the transfer. British reports said Arsenal and Newcastle reached a compromise after weeks of talks, with the final fee landing below Newcastle’s initial £80 million demand. Guimaraes, 28, has made clear he wants the move and is expected to undergo a medical in London in the next few days. He joined Newcastle from Lyon in 2022 and became a central figure for the club, scoring 30 goals and adding 26 assists in 153 league appearances. Lyon are also set to receive a sell-on payment from the deal.
