Armed motorcycle theft recidivist arrested after 20 Jakarta Selatan thefts
Police seized a homemade firearm with five 9 mm rounds and are still hunting one other suspect on the wanted list.
A joint team from Polres Metro Jakarta Selatan and Polsek Pesanggrahan arrested T (38), an armed motorcycle theft recidivist suspected in 20 thefts across Jakarta Selatan. The arrest took place in Lampung Timur after police first detained another suspect, identified as AR, on Saturday early morning. According to Polsek Pesanggrahan chief Kompol Seala Syah Alam, T resisted arrest, prompting officers to use measured force. Police have also named one other suspect as a wanted person. Investigators seized a homemade firearm and five 9 mm rounds believed to have been used to threaten victims during thefts in Jakarta and Tangerang. T was previously arrested in a similar case in 2024, then repeated the offense after being released.
