Armed man arrested at Trump golf course before California visit

A 38-year-old California man was arrested at President Donald Trump’s golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes two days before Trump’s fundraising visit, after authorities say he carried illegal weapons and appeared to monitor security activity. Investigators identified the man as Jeanine John Taele of Downey. Federal agents said he was first seen photographing and filming security preparations while wearing an earpiece, then returned Sunday and claimed he was part of a State Department security detail. Deputies found a loaded pistol in his vehicle and a 16-round magazine with hollow-point ammunition in his pocket. A later search of his home turned up an illegally modified AR-style rifle, another pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, radios and notebooks with what officials called concerning statements.
