What's next: Prosecutors in Córdoba are investigating how the instructor exited the Cessna 150 mid-flight.
A flight instructor in Argentina died after jumping from a training plane during a lesson, leaving his 22-year-old student to land the aircraft by herself. The incident happened Saturday near Toledo in Córdoba province. Leandro Andrés Bertazzo, 42, was instructing Rosario in a Cessna 150 when he removed his headset, took off his seat belt, opened the door and jumped, according to the student’s account cited by local media. She then radioed for help and landed safely despite being shaken, with no damage to the plane. Eduardo Álvarez, director of Flying Parrot Córdoba, said Bertazzo had flown with another student earlier that day and showed no obvious warning signs. Prosecutors in Córdoba have opened an investigation into the death.
