APQ Awards 2026 spotlights Pertamina innovation from SAF to anti-rust
The anti-rust fluid made from food waste is claimed to cut operating costs by up to Rp 81 miliar.
Pertamina showcased hundreds of worker innovations at the 16th Annual Pertamina Quality Awards 2026 peak event at Grha Pertamina in Jakarta on Monday (15/6/2026). The event, themed Elevating Talent, Accelerating Innovation, and Delivering Enterprise Value, drew 915 workers across 120 innovation groups. One highlight came from Pertamina Patra Niaga Kilang Cilacap, which developed sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from used cooking oil as part of its low-carbon business. Another innovation came from PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia through an anti-rust fluid called “Skin Care” made from food waste for rig equipment. According to PDSI management, the breakthrough helps protect drilling tools, reduce potential pollution, and deliver savings of up to Rp 81 miliar. The jury awarded Platinum status to 40 groups.
