Apple schedules Sept. 9 event, foldable iPhone set to debut
The foldable device is expected to cost more than US$2,000 and may go on sale later, not immediately.
Apple has scheduled a launch event titled “Surprise and Shine” for Sept. 9, 2026, at Apple Park in California, where it is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone. Several reports also say the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be introduced at the event, which begins at 10:00 local time. According to Republika, citing MacRumors and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the foldable phone will likely be introduced first and then go on sale some time after the event, following the launch pattern of the iPhone X in 2017. Its price is expected to be above US$2,000. The event will also be Apple’s first major product launch under John Ternus, who is scheduled to replace Tim Cook as CEO starting Sept. 1, 2026.
