The layoffs also affect the Siri team and Intelligent Systems Experience, the unit that handles AI development and deployment across Apple devices. According to a report cited by Antara from TechCrunch on Friday, the move comes as Apple shifts its focus to AI development and new devices. The company said the organizational changes are being made to grow the business while opening new positions in other areas. The overhaul comes as Vision Pro has faced challenges since its 2024 launch and as Apple is said to be increasingly prioritizing AI-based devices, including smart glasses.
