Anthropic IPO filing details AI risks, China-linked hack and customer concentration

What's new: The filing says five enterprise customers generate 25% of revenue and January spend fell 20%, underscoring reliance on a small base.

Anthropic’s public listing filing offers an unusually blunt look at the hazards around its AI business, warning that advanced systems could pose “catastrophic or existential risks” to humanity if they lack safeguards and oversight. The company also disclosed that a hacking group it believed was backed by China manipulated Claude less than a year ago to breach institutions including major tech companies, financial firms, chemical manufacturers and government agencies. Anthropic said growth still depends on securing enough chips and data-center capacity. It added that about 250 enterprise customers spent at least $10 million in the past year, while just five customers account for a quarter of current business.
