British actor Anthony Head, known to U.S. audiences as Rupert Giles in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and more recently as Rupert Mannion in "Ted Lasso," has died at 72. His daughters, Emily Head and Daisy Head, said he died peacefully from complications of pneumonia while surrounded by family. Head first became widely known in Britain through Nescafe commercials before building a long TV and film career that also included "Merlin," "Little Britain," "Doctor Who" and "The Iron Lady." Former co-stars including Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz and James Marsters paid tribute, recalling his kindness and steady presence on set.
