Sleman council member named suspect in Rp68,5 billion graft
Raudi Akmal was detained for 20 days and is suspected of helping rig proposals for 2020 tourism grants.
The Sleman District Attorney’s Office named Sleman DPRD member Raudi Akmal a suspect in the expanded corruption probe into Sleman Regency tourism grant funds for 2020. Raudi was immediately detained for 20 days at the Class IIA Yogyakarta Detention Center starting Monday, 22 June 2026. Investigators suspect he played an active role in arranging community group proposals so they could pass as grant recipients, after which the proposals were approved by then-Sleman Regent Sri Purnomo, his father. The case involves Rp68.518.100.000 in Ministry of Finance grants for handling the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact through the National Economic Recovery program. The Sleman District Attorney’s Office said state losses reached Rp10.952.457.030 based on an audit by the DIY BPKP representative office dated 12 July 2024.
