Adopted son and girlfriend arrested after burial in Nganjuk
Police arrested two suspects within 10 hours and seized hoes, tarpaulins, rope, cellphones and clothing.
Nganjuk Police arrested two suspects after the body of Gatot Tri Wahyu Widodo was found buried in the yard of his home in Dusun Nanggungan, Desa Kaloran, Kecamatan Ngronggot, Kabupaten Nganjuk. The suspects are DM (19), the victim's adopted son, and NJ (28), his girlfriend from Kecamatan Tanjunganom. They were arrested on Jalan Jenderal S Parman, Waru, Sidoarjo, about 10 hours after the body was found. Residents had become suspicious after Gatot had not been seen since Monday (13/7), then found a fresh mound of earth covered with banana trunks, dry leaves and roof tiles next to the victim's house. Police excavated the site with the Inafis Team of the Nganjuk Police Criminal Investigation Unit and evacuated the body to RS Bhayangkara Nganjuk for an autopsy. Police suspect the killing was driven by personal and financial problems, although the final motive is still under investigation.
