Alwi Farhan targets a deep run at the 2026 BWF World Championships
New: Alwi enters the Aug. 17-23 New Delhi tournament unseeded after a mental review following the China Open.
Indonesian men’s singles shuttler Alwi Farhan is targeting a deep run at the 2026 BWF World Championships in New Delhi, India, on Aug. 17-23. Alwi said his preparation has gone well after he resumed training last week at the PBSI Cipayung national training center in Jakarta. His trip was disrupted by a flight cancellation caused by a typhoon in the Changzhou, China area, but he said he is ready for the tournament. Ahead of the championships, Alwi pointed to match experience and mental management as the main areas for evaluation. At the China Open, he exited in the round of 32 after a 17-21, 21-5, 17-21 loss to Ayush Shetty. Although he is unseeded, Alwi said chances remain open if preparation is maximized.
