Al-Sisi arrives in Jakarta for Sunday meeting with Prabowo
The two countries are preparing MoUs on visas, statistics and fisheries, plus an action plan to deepen strategic ties.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Saturday afternoon for a two-day state visit that will culminate in a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at Istana Merdeka on Sunday at 10.30 WIB. Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir said the agenda includes a one-on-one meeting, bilateral talks and the signing of memorandums of understanding. Areas of cooperation being prepared include visas, statistics, fisheries and an action plan to strengthen Indonesia-Egypt strategic relations. The Oct. 10-11, 2026 visit is described as a return visit after Prabowo traveled to Egypt in 2024 and 2025, and it also closes al-Sisi's Asia tour after South Korea and Malaysia.
