AIA Syariah begins full operations from November 1, 2026
The unit received its OJK license on September 25 and took over participant portfolios from AIA Financial.
PT AIA Syariah Insurance began full operations on 1 November 2026 after completing the separation of its sharia business unit from PT AIA Financial. Previously, the company received a sharia life insurance operating license from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan on 25 September 2026, then took over the participant portfolio from its parent. AIA President Director Harsya Prasetyo described the move as an expansion of access to sharia-based protection for Indonesian families. AIA Syariah President Director Ruddy Martono said the company will focus on sharia protection solutions with support from the AIA+ digital service and the AIA Vitality program. OJK data show assets in the sharia insurance, guarantee and pension fund sector rose 10.59 percent in 2025 to Rp74,27 triliun, while sharia insurance contributions accounted for about 10 percent of total national premiums.
