9-year-old girl in Bandung badly injured in pitbull attack
She remains under intensive care at Rumah Sakit Welas Asih as police question the dog’s owner and review next steps.
A 9-year-old girl was badly injured after being attacked by a pet pitbull at Grand Cendana Residence, Wargaluyu Village, Arjasari District, Bandung Regency, on Sunday (23/8) at about 17.08 WIB. The victim suffered wounds to her head and ear, then was taken by her parents and the dog’s owner to Rumah Sakit Welas Asih. Police said the dog, owned by a resident named Firmansyah, broke free from its tether while being left out in the sun, entered the housing complex and attacked the girl as she was playing outside her house. Pameungpeuk Police Chief Asep Dedi said the victim remains under intensive care. Police also accompanied the family to get a vaccine at Puskesmas Ciparay, while officers questioned several people to investigate the incident and determine action against the dog and its owner.
