A fire involving waste materials and chemicals broke out at an industrial warehouse in Tuas early June 12, drawing about 80 firefighters and 20 emergency vehicles. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the blaze at 3 Gul Crescent at about 3 a.m. The fire involved a warehouse about the size of a football field. SCDF used seven water jets, two firefighting machines and an aerial monitor to battle the blaze. By about 7:45 a.m., the fire had been contained within the warehouse and brought under control, with no reported injuries. The agency said the blaze did not spread to nearby buildings, though firefighting operations were still ongoing in the latest update.
