5 killed in Michigan shootings; suspect found dead after manhunt

What's new: Troopers found victims at two homes and near Whitlock Lake, while one wounded person remained hospitalized in critical condition.

Five people were killed in a series of shootings in northern Michigan on Friday, and the suspect was later found dead after a manhunt, Michigan State Police said. Troopers responding around 11:40 a.m. to a home in Missaukee County found three people dead and a fourth wounded. The injured person was taken to a hospital and remained in critical condition. Police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Chad Hickman, who fled before officers arrived. During the search, investigators found another victim dead at a second home. Troopers later located Hickman’s vehicle near a wooded area by Whitlock Lake, where they found Hickman and another person dead. Police have not released the victims’ names or details on how each person died.
