46,000 Singapore Airlines bookings hit in Amadeus data breach

What's new: SIA said 620 records may also include email addresses, phone numbers, travel document details and KrisFlyer numbers.

Singapore Airlines said about 46,000 booking records were illegally accessed in a breach tied to reservation-technology provider Amadeus. The exposed data included customer names, booking reference numbers, travel itineraries and booking classes. For roughly 620 records, email addresses, phone numbers, travel document details and KrisFlyer membership numbers may also have been accessed. SIA said the incident was limited to Amadeus’ platform and did not involve the airline’s own IT systems. The carrier said bank account and credit card data were not exposed, and no bookings were changed. As a precaution, SIA is contacting affected customers with upcoming travel to issue new booking reference numbers and has informed relevant authorities.
