4 TNI soldiers sentenced to 1.5-3 years in Andrie acid attack
Two defendants identified as the attack's masterminds were also dismissed from military service, while pretrial rulings ordered police to keep investigating the case.
Jakarta Military Court II-08 sentenced four TNI soldiers to 1 year 6 months to 3 years in prison in the acid attack case against KontraS deputy coordinator Andrie Yunus. Serda Edi Sudarko received 3 years, Lettu Budhi Hariyanto Widhi 2 years 6 months, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya 2 years, and Lettu Sami Lakka 1 year 6 months. The panel of judges, led by Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto, said the four were proven to have taken part in a premeditated assault that caused serious injury. Edi and Budhi were also dismissed from military service because they were deemed the masterminds of the attack. Following the ruling, Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai urged all sides to pursue objections through legal channels rather than challenge the verdict in public.
