4 arrested in Singapore abduction case tied to car rental dispute

Singapore police arrested two men and two women after a man was allegedly threatened with a parang and forced into his own vehicle during a dispute over a car rental agreement. Police said the confrontation happened around 1:55 a.m. on Aug. 4 at a carpark on Canberra Street. A 38-year-old man allegedly brandished the weapon, made the victim sit in the front passenger seat and drove him away, while a 36-year-old man sat in the rear. Officers later located the vehicle, chased it after the driver tried to flee, and the pursuit ended when it hit a lamp post at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 7 and Woodlands Avenue 10. The 38-year-old was arrested at the scene and a parang was recovered. The other man and two women, ages 30 and 38, were later arrested.
