4 family members die in Kledung from carbon monoxide
Police said the CO came from a charcoal briquette stove brought inside the tent during the family’s camping trip.
Police confirmed that four members of one family who died while camping in the Kledung tourism area in Temanggung Regency, Central Java, died from carbon monoxide poisoning. The toxic gas came from a stove used to warm the body that was placed inside the tent. Temanggung Police Chief AKBP Zamrul Aini said the conclusion was based on a crime scene investigation, forensic laboratory tests and an autopsy on one of the victims. Police said the stove should have been placed outside the tent, in line with the manager’s instructions. ANTARA reported that the fire source was charcoal briquettes when the family camped at Taman Wisata Alam Posong on 27 June.
