3-vehicle crash on Pantura in Indramayu kills 10
The death toll rose from 3 at the scene to 10 after seven passengers died while being treated at a hospital.
A three-vehicle crash on the Pantura route in the Kijaran area of Indramayu, West Java, killed 10 people on Sunday (12/7) at around 14.00 WIB. Indramayu Police traffic chief Undang Syarif said the collision involved an open-bed truck carrying 17 passengers returning from a wedding, a wing box truck, and a Hino truck coming from the opposite direction. As the open-bed truck turned around, it was struck from behind by the wing box truck, pushed forward, and then hit again by the Hino truck. Three people died at the scene. Seven others later died while receiving treatment at a hospital. In addition, two people suffered serious injuries, including the open-bed truck driver, and six others were lightly injured. Police are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
