2,663 West Java civil servants linked to online gambling, Rp14 billion
279 employees are under review and face possible disciplinary sanctions, with some individual transactions reaching Rp600 million.
The West Java provincial government is investigating the involvement of 2,663 employees in online gambling after verifying PPATK data. The total money flow tied to the activity reached about Rp14 billion. West Java BKD head Dedi Supandi said the list includes 419 PNS, 634 PPPK, and 1,610 part-time PPPK, the largest group. He said the Rp14 billion figure reflects total cash flow, including money that returned when players won, not just deposits or net losses. BKD is tracing when the gambling occurred and comparing transaction values with employee salaries and additional income. So far, 279 employees are under review and could face disciplinary action from their respective OPD. Dedi also said some employees recorded transactions of up to Rp600 million.
