17 arrested after Knicks' Game 2 win as officer is injured near MSG

Seventeen people were arrested near Madison Square Garden after the New York Knicks' 105-104 Game 2 NBA Finals win over the San Antonio Spurs, and one police officer was injured, according to local reporting cited by Fox News. Police said crowds outside the arena became increasingly disorderly as the game went on, blocking traffic on Seventh and Eighth avenues between 31st and 35th streets and climbing light poles, subway entrances and vendor carts. The injured officer was allegedly punched by a fan who entered a restricted area and refused to leave. Another person accused of selling counterfeit merchandise was also charged with possessing a loaded firearm.
