10 fake foreign investor cases handed to Kejari Kota Tangerang
The suspects now face up to 5 years in prison, not just deportation, after investor visas were allegedly secured with forged deeds.
Directorate General of Immigration handed the case files for 10 foreign nationals suspected of posing as investors to the Kejaksaan Negeri Kota Tangerang for prosecution. The suspects include eight Pakistanis and two Iraqis who were previously arrested by Imigrasi Kelas I Khusus Non-TPI Tangerang on 10 November 2025. They used investor visas, but investigators found that the notarial deed and company documents used to secure the visas were not used for their intended purpose. Immigration also found the deed creation date was recorded while the foreigners were still outside Indonesia. Joint checks with BKPM showed all of the guarantor companies were not operating at their registered addresses, including those using virtual office services. On 17 July 2026, the suspects and evidence were turned over to the Kejari. They are charged under Article 123 letter b of the Immigration Law, which carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison.
