Zverev routs Fery 6-0, 6-2 to reach Vienna semis
The win also seals Zverev's rise to world No. 1 on Monday and sets up a semifinal against Alex de Minaur.
Alexander Zverev advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 Erste Bank Open in Vienna after beating Britain's Arthur Fery 6-0, 6-2 in the quarterfinals on Friday night WIB. The top-seeded German finished the match in just 58 minutes and improved his head-to-head record against Fery to 2-0, after also winning at Wimbledon this year. According to an ATP report cited by Antara, Fery had physical issues from the first game after receiving treatment a day earlier in his match against Lorenzo Musetti. The result ensures Zverev will rise to world No. 1 in the latest ATP rankings, overtaking Jannik Sinner. It was Zverev's 12th semifinal of the season. In the last four, he will face fifth seed Alex de Minaur, who eliminated Matteo Berrettini 7-6(4), 6-2.
