Zulfa Mustofa book urged as reference for NU congress
The Arabic-language volume covers Bahtsul Masail, ushul fikih, contemporary fatwas and the intellectual history of Syekh Nawawi al-Bantani.
The book Ithafu Ummati Al-Muqtafa by PBNU Deputy General Chairman Zulfa Mustofa is being promoted as a reference for Bahtsul Masail at the NU congress. PBNU Rais Syuriyah Abdul Ghofur Maimun said the issues in the book should receive proper attention at the congress and the Munas, so scholarly discussion does not get overshadowed by the dynamics of the election for PBNU General Chairman and PBNU Rais Aam. The book launch and discussion were held at Aula Masjid Sunda Kelapa, Menteng, Jakarta. The book compiles four Arabic-language works on the methodology of Bahtsul Masail, ushul fikih, contemporary fatwas, and the intellectual history of Syekh Nawawi al-Bantani. PBNU adviser Said Aqil Siroj said the work is important to revive the pesantren scholarly tradition amid a shallow tide of digital information.
