Zelenskyy says Starshield curbs still hamper Ukraine's front lines
What's new: He said the network's speed has not been fully restored, hurting air defense, drone strikes and battlefield resupply.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine still lacks full access to the Starshield and Starlink satellite services it uses in the war with Russia, leaving troops more exposed on the front line. In interviews and posts over the weekend, Zelenskyy said the restrictions began without warning last week and that service speeds remain below normal. He said the network supports intercepting Russian attacks, striking military targets in occupied territory and delivering food and water to soldiers by drone. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk wrote on X that the U.S. government controls the military system and that any limits on speed or usage are set by the U.S. military and ultimately the president.
