Yurizal waits 8 hours in RSCM ER as HCU fills up
KKI has identified 10 health workers and medical staff for investigation over alleged insensitive comments.
The Ministry of Health said Yurizal Tri Chaerawan waited eight hours in the RSCM emergency room in Jakarta Pusat because he needed a High Care Unit bed, which has limited capacity, not a regular inpatient room. Director General of Advanced Health Azhar Jaya said RSCM, as a national referral hospital, often has high occupancy, so transfers from the ER to inpatient care depend on bed availability. Yurizal previously wrote on Threads on 22 July 2026 that he had not received a room after eight hours of waiting. He was later reported to have died on 31 July. The case drew attention after the post was met with insensitive comments from accounts believed to belong to health workers. The Indonesia Health Council said it had identified 10 health workers and medical staff for further investigation.
