Woman pleads guilty in Singapore case over Megan Khung abuse, body disposal
What's next: Prosecutors want 13½ years in prison, and sentencing is set for Nov. 13.
A Singapore woman pleaded guilty Monday to helping dispose of 4-year-old Megan Khung’s body and conspiring in the child’s abuse, years after the girl died following prolonged mistreatment by her mother and the mother’s boyfriend. Nouvelle Chua Ruoshi admitted to child-abuse conspiracy, corpse disposal and methamphetamine use. Court filings said she recorded some abuse, failed to seek medical help after Wong Shi Xiang fatally punched Megan in the stomach on Feb. 21, 2020, and later helped dispose of the body. Megan’s remains were never recovered after they were burned at Paya Ubi Industrial Park. Chua is due to be sentenced on Nov. 13. Megan’s mother, Foo Li Ping, and Wong were previously jailed for 19 years and 30 years, respectively.
