Woman in Pulogadung Stopped by Debt Collectors, Police Mediate
Police said the debtor had missed vehicle installments for about 10 months, then agreed to settle payment at Polsek Pulogadung.
A woman rider was briefly stopped by several debt collectors in front of Kantor Pos Indonesia on Jalan Pemuda in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, and the video circulated on social media. After receiving the report, officers from Polsek Pulogadung went to the scene and found the collection was linked to unpaid vehicle installments. Because no agreement was reached at the scene and police feared it could draw a crowd, they took both sides to Polsek Pulogadung for mediation. Made Budi, public relations chief of Polres Metro Jakarta Timur, said during the talks the debtor admitted to about 10 months of overdue installments. The two sides then reached an agreement to settle the payment obligation and close the case through deliberation.
