Wings Air opens Kualanamu-Mandailing Natal route 3 times a week

The KNO-JHN service uses an ATR 72-600 with 72 seats on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, cutting travel time for residents.

Wings Air began direct flights from Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang to Jenderal Besar Abdul Haris Nasution Airport in Mandailing Natal, North Sumatra, on Saturday, 1 August 2026. North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution inaugurated the maiden flight at Kualanamu. The KNO-JHN route is served by an ATR 72-600 with 72 seats and operates round trips three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. According to Bobby, the direct link reduces travel time for Mandailing Natal residents, who previously had to make a long overland journey or transit through another province. PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi Director of Commercial and Business Development Kedar Vijay Deshpande said the route is important to expand connectivity and support local economic growth and tourism in North Sumatra.
