Waingapu prison chief's residence raid video was from 2024
Former warden RB has been removed and is now detained by Polda Jambi in a suspected drug-trafficking case.
The Directorate General of Corrections said a video of a raid at the official residence of the Waingapu prison chief that resurfaced on social media was not a new event, but an incident from November 2024. The video shows an alleged raid at the residence of the Kalapas Kelas IIA Waingapu in East Sumba, Nusa Tenggara Timur. According to Ditjenpas spokeswoman Rika Aprianti, the official identified as RB, then the Waingapu prison chief, was immediately removed, questioned and given administrative sanctions. RB is now a civil servant at the Ditjenpas Jambi regional office and has been temporarily suspended while facing legal proceedings. He has also been detained by Polda Jambi in a suspected drug-trafficking case. Ditjenpas said the posts now circulating use a misleading narrative about when the incident occurred.
