Six months after the United States entered war with Iran, military families say repeated deployments, financial strain and uncertainty are taking a mounting toll at home. Blue Star Families, a nonprofit serving military households, said school pickups, lost income and separation anxiety have become routine burdens as the conflict drags on. The US has more than 50,000 troops in the region and has sent thousands more Marines and sailors to support the war effort. Eighteen US service members have been killed and more than 750 wounded. In a March poll of about 200 active-duty families by Blue Star Families, 81% reported elevated stress tied to the war. The Pentagon said it would provide families the resources and stability they need during the conflict.
