US, Iran schedule technical talks in Switzerland on June 21

The Burgenstock talks will include mediators from Pakistan and Qatar, with a 60-day window for a final nuclear and sanctions deal.

The United States and Iran have scheduled technical-level talks in Burgenstock, Switzerland, for June 21 after a meeting initially planned for June 19 was delayed. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said delegations from both countries will attend along with mediators from Pakistan and Qatar. Earlier, the US-Iran negotiating team was set to meet in Switzerland but canceled, and US Vice President JD Vance also did not travel. Amid the delay, President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff was reported to be heading to Switzerland. The round of talks follows a remote memorandum of understanding signed by Donald Trump and Masoud Pezeshkian on June 17. The document gives 60 days to negotiate a final deal on Iran's nuclear program, US sanctions and shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
