US, Iran finalize peace draft, MoU set for signing in Swiss

The 14-point draft includes lifting a sea blockade, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and 60-day nuclear talks.

The United States and Iran are said to have completed a memorandum of understanding draft to end the conflict, with a formal signing scheduled for Friday in Swiss. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said the commitments in the agreement would take effect after the signing. US President Donald Trump also said the deal was finished and ordered the lifting of the US Navy blockade on Iran. Several circulating details say the 14-point draft includes ending the war on all fronts, reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days, easing oil sanctions, releasing frozen Iran funds and 60 days of negotiations for a final agreement on nuclear issues. Swiss was chosen because of its neutral role in international diplomacy.
